HOME COOKING: Top Recipes From Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Cracker Barrel’s & Ruby Tuesday’s That You Can Cook At Home – Restaurant Recipes for Home

27 February 2010 by admin

If you are like me, you love to dine out and enjoy dinner at a fine restaurant.

The aroma of food, dishes clanging in the background, a relaxed casual atmosphere. As you look into the kitchen you see the flames rising from the pans, chefs making the plates look like just right. Friend and family at our plateau speaking about the days events. Remembering the great times had in the past. These moments are a treasure in our hearts.

That is, until the bill comes. You can’t get out of a fine dinning restaurant for under 0 theses days. And that’s just for two, don’t even think of bringing the children without cashing your paycheck first. The high cost of intake out limits these times to only special occasions.

Have you tried to reenact the same scenario at home only to find the recipes in those other cookbook don’t even come close to the tantalizing taste in the restaurant. What if you could get a hold of those recipes?

I’ve been a pro cook for over 30 years. And I’ve gathered thousands of recipes…

As Ron Douglas, Author of one of my favorite cookbooks, AMERICA’S MOST WANTED RECIPES, says, “Of course, there’s nothing wrong with spending money on top-class, mouth watering food which gets everyone salivating and craving for more… But what if you could cook these killer dishes on demand, from your very own kitchen whenever you felt like it — make anyone, your friends or family, go all wild and gaga over your food at the next bash, celebration or gathering — these dishes for a fee and begin earning good money simply by following the surefire instructions in this recipe book…”

Here’s a Chef’s Secret: we’ve been using the Great Restaurant Recipes for years, both in restaurant kitchens — and at home.

From Applebee’s Tequila Lime Chicken to Starbuck’s Espresso Truffles — from KFC Chicken to Cheesecake Factory cheesecake — from Apricot Chicken Drumsticks to Fish Fingers to Baked Ziti — we use ‘em all.  Maybe you are cooking this special meal for family.  Or friends.  Or that date you met on WUVING.com – no matter who your guests are — they’ll love it.

Here are 5 of my favourite — and most favourite recipes:

–Olive Garden Fried Mozzarella–

1 pound block of mozzarella cheese

2 eggs, beaten

1/4 cup water

1 1/2 cups Italian bread crumbs

1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

2/3 cup flour

1/3 cup corn starch

Slice the block of cheese lengthwise into about 1/2 inch sections. Cut apiece section in half.

Beat the eggs with water and set aside. Mix the bread crumbs, garlic, oregano, and basil and set aside. Blend the flour with corn starch and set aside.

Heat vegetable oil for deep frying to 350F. Dip cheese in flour then in egg wash and then coat with bread crumbs. Place carefully in hot oil and fry until golden brown. This should only take a matter of seconds, so you need to watch them closely.

Drain on brown paper bags and serve with your favorite pasta sauce that has been warmed.

 –Red Lobster’s Crab Stuffed Mushrooms–

1 pound fresh mushrooms, approximately 35-40

1/4 cup celery, finely chopped

2 tablespoons onion, finely chopped

2 tablespoons red bell pepper, finely chopped

1/2 pound crab claw meat

2 cups oyster crackers crushed

1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning

1/4 teaspoon black pepper, ground

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 egg

1/2 cup water

6 white cheddar cheese, slices

1) Preheat oven to 400 degrees

2) Saute celery, onion, and pepper in butter for 2 minutes, transfer to a plate and cool in the refrigerator

3) While vegetables cool, wash mushrooms and remove stems

4) Set caps to the side and finely chop half of the stems. Discard the other half of the stems or use elsewhere

5) Combine the sauteed vegetables, chopped mushroom stems, and all other ingredients (except cheese slices) and mix well

6) Place mushroom caps in individual buttered casseroles or baking dishes (about 6 caps each)

7) Spoon 1 teaspoon of stuffing into apiece mushroom

8) Cover with sliced cheese

9) Bake in oven for 12-15 minutes until cheese is lightly browned.

–Ruby Tuesday’s Chicken Quesadillas–

5 oz. chicken breast

Italian Dressing

12 inch flour tortilla

margarine

1 cup shredded monterey jack/cheddar cheese

1 Tablespoon tomatoes, diced

1 Tablespoon chilly peppers, diced

Cajun Seasoning (to taste)

1/2 cup shredded lettuce

1/4 cup diced tomatoes

Sour Cream

Salsa

Place chicken breast in a bowl with enough Italian dressing to coat; grant to marinate 30 minutes, refrigerated. Grill marinated chicken until done in a lightly oiled pan. Cut into 3/4″ pieces and set aside.

Brush one side of tortilla with margarine and place in frying pan over medium heat. On one half of tortilla, add cheese,

1 Tbls. tomatoes, peppers, and Acadian seasoning in that order.

Make sure to spread to the edge of the half. Top with diced chicken, fold empty tortilla side on top, and flip over in pan so that cheese is on top of chicken. Cook until very warm throughout.

Remove from pan to serving plate and cut into six equal wedges on one side of plate. On the other side place lettuce, topped with 1/4 cup tomatoes, and then topped with sour cream.

Serve your favorite salsa in a small bowl on the side.

–Cracker Barrel’s Hashbrown Casserole–

2 lbs. frozen hashbrowns

1/2 cup melted butter

Hiking Tours In New Terrains

27 February 2010 by admin

Perhaps you view hiking as simple or a “piece of cake” as some would say. Put on some boots, shorts and a shirt and off you go. How hard can it be? Well, travel is not necessarily the same thing as hiking. Ask any experienced hiker.

Now, some hikes might very well be that simple and those hikes should be. Not all hikes need to be a three or four day venture in the mountains, or navigating through forests or crossways streams and rivers. It is perfectly fine to just want some fresh air and exercise in nature’s surroundings.

But, if you want to expand your hiking there are some things you should think about in preparation.

An outdoor pass such as hiking tours does not necessarily fit the “vacation” definition as other vacations may. Yes, you will enjoy yourself but do not approach hiking vacations in the same manner you would a pass to the Caribbean.

First, you will want to get in shape. Try taking brief, more level hikes in your local area to prepare yourself for the longer hikes. If your lifestyle is evenhandedly sedentary, you will want to slowly build your endurance for the more rigorous hikes. Pain is a top reason why many do not stick to an exercise plan, and that pain is often caused by doing too much too soon.

Obviously, your legs will bear most of the initial burden during the hike, but many muscles are involved actually. Begin preparing yourself with some regular leg squats and thrusts to strengthen your lower muscle groups.

Try to hike with at least one partner unless you are very familiar with the area and it is not a challenging terrain. It is especially important to not hike alone if you are in a new, unfamiliar travel destination. Even for the experienced hiker, signing up for hiking tours in the new area can help familiarize you with the terrain before venturing out on your own. The last thing you want is to get lost in an unfamiliar area.

GPS units and other tools can help, but keep in mind that not all GPS units function in all areas. Also, GPS units will not help if you become ill or injure yourself.

Avoid drinking water from creeks or streams. They might be “natural” sources of water but they are more likely than not full of bacteria, animal waste and other unhealthy toxins even if not man-made pollutants.

Stay on clearly marked trails until you are familiar with the area and acquire more experience. Though maps are helpful for those who can read them, GPS units are probably a superior option for most hikers. Spend some time learning how to use it and verify that it will work in the area you will be hiking.

Hiking can be a fascinating adventure. Begin slowly, and soon you will be ready for the overnight or all day hikes through some of the most beautiful parks, forest and mountains around!

Chicken recipes are extremely favourite in the home kitchen. This day we’re making chicken marsala, one of the most favourite Italian recipes prefabricated with wine. This simple chicken marsala recipe calls for marsala wine, sherry wine and fresh mushrooms. When choosing fresh mushrooms for your chicken marsala recipes, look for tightly shut caps that don’t show any gills. When cooking with wine, don’t spend a lot of money on your cooking wines. But on the flip side, don’t purchase something that you wouldn’t drink straight. This is what you’ll need to prepare this simple recipe for chicken marsala: Chicken Marsala 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, pounded to about 1/4-inch thickness between two sheets of plastic wrap 1/2 cup all purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper 1 containerful dried oregano 8-12 mushrooms, sliced 1/4 cup olive oil 1/2 stick butter 1/2 cup marsala wine 1/4 cup sherry wine First, pound the thawed chicken breast to about 1/4 inch thickness between two sheets of plastic wrap. Next, in a 13×9 casserole dish, mix together the flour, salt, pepper and oregano and mix well. Coat chicken breasts on both sides in flour mixture. Next, heat 1/4 cup olive oil and 1/2 stick butter in a massive skillet over medium-high heat. When butter is melted, add the chicken and fry apiece side until browned, about 3 minutes on apiece side. For the chicken marsala sauce, add sliced mushrooms to skillet and pour the wines over the top. Simmer 10-15 minutes, covered, until

How To Find Good Seattle Mexican Food

25 February 2010 by admin

<!– @page { margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } –>

Sometimes, the words “Mexican food” alone are enough to whet the appetites of many people. The residents of Seattle are no different. Even though finding Seattle Mexican food is not very difficult, finding the ideal that this North-western city has to offer can be a daunting task. Some of the ideal Mexican restaurants in the country can be found in Seattle, but sorting out the chaff from the wheat can be a challenge. Here are a few things to think about in finding a good Seattle Mexican restaurant.

Price

Affordability is something that most of us look for when we spend on food. Often, good restaurants charge a lot of money for food, and they can be out of reach for most people. Seattle Mexican food need not be costly to be good. A lot of the ingredients used in Mexican cooking are relatively cheap, so good Seattle Mexican food does not need to be expensive.

Variety

A good Mexican restaurant should also have a lot of variety when it comes to the Mexican dishes they serve. They should have the staples like burritos, quesadillas and tacos, but they should also have some of the lesser-known Mexican dishes like Carnitas and Mexican desserts like flan. A varied menu also means that you can take in a place more often since you can try a new dish each time you come in to eat.

Drinks

The ideal thing to go with good Seattle Mexican food would be a cold pitcher of Margarita. Some excellent restaurants also serve a variety of Mexican beers and other Mexican drinks. This helps in giving diners a more trusty Mexican experience. Some people do not have time to go to Mexico for a real Mexican experience and this can help them get away from the city, at least for the duration of a meal.

Catering Services

For people who want to get a taste of Seattle Mexican food in the celebrations they hold, a restaurant with a catering service can be the answer to your problems. Be the envy of your friends as you hold successful celebrations with a distinct Mexican flavour.

Outdoor Dining

To further lend authenticity to Mexican dining, a good restaurant might also have a patio for outdoor dining. Diners can enjoy their meals under the stars in a Mexican style patio. Outdoor bars are also evenhandedly common, complete with Mexican style structure and lighting.

Healthy Eating

An excellent Mexican restaurant should also have healthy options for health-conscious diners. This is not a problem, since many Mexican dishes are healthy to begin with. Mexican salads and side dishes are often very tasty as well as very healthy. Many dishes, like guacamole, also use healthy and nutrient rich ingredients like Avocados.

Finding good Seattle Mexican food can be a fun and rewarding challenge. Mexican restaurants are a good place to bring dates or just hang out with friends. Good food, good drinks and good ambience are things that a good Mexican restaurant should offer their customers.

Benidorm, Great Place for Vacation Spot

24 February 2010 by admin

Property in the Alicante region have become extremely favourite in current years. It is no wonder, since the city is close to the most favourite areas of the Costa Blanca, and travel in and out of Alicante airfield is very convenient. There are flights to many destinations from the Alicante airport, so visitors and homeowners can travel to this city easily.

There has been a surge of holiday home buys by northern Europeans.  It is a great place to own a pass home, since travel there is so easy, people can hop a flight and take a short vacation; there are many discount airlines operating flights, so the rates can be very reasonable.

Alicante, the second largest city in Valencia Province has been undergoing a resurgence due to this holiday home buying. The beautiful homes being built have prefabricated Alicante a position destination and the real estate market is now extremely hot.

Property values have been increasing, so lucky buyers who already purchased there can pride themselves on having their vacations pay for themselves.  The expectation is for this trend to continue, so a property in Alicante continues to be an interesting investment.

It is not difficult for a foreigner to purchase property and secure a mortgage in Spain. The first thing one must do is to obtain a NIE, which is a registration number all foreigner must have in order to sign any legal documents in the country.  The Spanish Consulate in one’s home country can assist with obtaining this number.

A great number of pass home owners pay for their home by renting it out during the periods that they are not using it. This great tourist destination is lovely to visit during the entire year. Though summer is the high season, and rents reflect that, anyone who owns a pass home can probably rent it out during other periods, just not at the same rental rates. Or, if you want to acquire the maximum from your property, you can rent out during the high season and take your pass in the spring or fall.Of course, you must be realistic and make sure you can afford the mortgage in the first place. If you are relying completely on rental income and you have an empty period, you will find yourself financially strapped.

The first step (after finding your dream property, of course), is to hire an attorney. He will review your contract, make sure the deed is legitimate and has no liens, etc. It is superior to find your own attorney than use one suggested by the real estate agent. You want one who is solely representing your interests.

Be aware, however that you will be hit with a very massive capital gains tax on your profit when you sell. Spain has a capital gains rate of 35% for non-residents.  If you plan on using the property both for pass and rentals for a number of years, this high rate will liquidate over a longer period, but if you plan to or have to sell quickly, it can be quite expensive. Make sure you take this bourgeois into statement when you are getting ready to purchase a property. You want to make sure you have all contingencies covered so you will not end up losing money.

Summer Villa Breaks in Lanzarote

23 February 2010 by admin

Lanzarote is the fourth largest of the Canary Islands.  The Spanish owned chain that has become virtually synonomous with package holidays over the last decade.  Yet these seven islands offer plenty for the independent traveller too –including a wide range of high calibre self catering accommodation options.

The Canaries are well known as a tourist destination – with the larger islands such as Tenerife and Gran Canaria bookkeeping for the bulk of the 9 million foreign tourists who enjoy holidays here each year.  Their popularity can in part be explained by their excellent climate – which is often likened to an Eternal Spring.  Along with some stunning scenery – with the island boasting sights such as Mount Teide and the well known volcanic region on Lanzarote.

Lanzarote is in fact one of the smaller islands but it still welcomes around 1.4 million visitors annually.  And somehow managed to remain quite unspoiled despite this.  With tiny in the way of high rise buildings outside the main resorts and plenty of untouched countryside for visitors to explore.

Getting to the island has never been easier for independent travellers as there are now a number of budget airlines offering flights to Lanzarote.  Such as Ryanair , easyJet and Monarch.

This has prefabricated it much easier for holidaymakers to build their own holidays and do away with the services of a travel agent and this has also resulted in a growth in demand for self catering accommodation such as Lanzarote villas  and apartments.  Which are surprisingly reasonably priced on the island in relation to some of the Spanish holiday destinations such as Mallorca or Ibiza.

The bulk of the ideal villas are located in the two main resorts of Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca.  Both of which are located on the situated on the more sheltered south orient coastline.  Puerto del Carmen is the oldest resort on the island – and Playa Blanca the newest.

Lanzarote is a very small island so getting around and exploring is easy.  Not least as the roads are relatively quiet and quite well signposted.  Car hire in Lanzarote  is also very affordable as it is doable to pick up a rental car here for as tiny as €15 per day.

What are the main attractions?  No visitor should miss the astounding scenery of the Timanfaya Volcano Park.  Whilst the seven centres of tourism and culture developed by the local artist César Manrique also feature high on most itineraries.

Beach Holidays in Benidorm Spain, Rich In Relaxation

5 Tips to Eating at the Best Mexican Restaurant

22 February 2010 by admin

It is always recommended: When you are in Mexico, you should make sure that you can dine in any of the restaurants out there. Thus, if you want to cover all of the ideal meals, you might have to stay in Mexico for a longer time, and you might not have the time to do so.

So how do you look for the ideal Mexican restaurant? Let us count the ways:

1. Get a listing of the local restaurants in your area. You can go to the tourism office or those shops that offer novelty items. They normally have restaurant guide that you can purchase for a very small fee. It contains a list of all dining areas within the town. Before you decide to dine, you can call them beforehand so you can ask what kinds of food that they are offering. You can then decide which of them would probably give you real Mexican dishes that you want to try.

2. Read reviews. Restaurant reviews are not only acquirable in the World Wide Web. You can also obtain them from newspapers and even magazines. Most of the reviews are written by experts or travelers like you, so you can assure that these reviews are coming straight out of their experience. Moreover, they would cover different aspects of the restaurant, including ambiance and customer service.

3. Ask for recommendations from friends. If you have friends who had been to Mexico or are currently living in the country, you can get some recommendations from their own dining experience. In fact, this is a good way of getting reviews since they will not give you restaurants that are not worth the time at all. You can also go online and inquire about the ideal restaurants in Mexico in travel- and food-related message boards and blogs.

4. Dine at Grupo Mayan. A Grupo Mayan hotel has its own restaurant, where you can dine for most part of the day. Most of their dishes are created by the top chefs in the country, so the food is not only delicious, but it’s also going to be authentic. You can have your meals delivered into your Grupo Mayan room if you want to dine in private.

5. Go online. The World Wide Web has infinite list of restaurants and their services. You can do this even before you go to Mexico, so you can already include these diners in your itinerary. You can also send your inquiries days before or give them a call.

Don’t miss out the food when you’re in Mexico, and while you’re at it, make sure that you’re at the right restaurant.
