The Various Kinds of Toronto Hotels

29 June 2010 by

The Toronto hotels can be divided into three different categories; the extended stay, the full service and the limited service.  Even though the precise facilities that a hotel guest can anticipate will change from one hotel to another, there are some basic items that will be there at all of them whether it is the Toronto airfield hotel or one of the downtown Toronto hotels. Here we will see what the various amenities and services are that one can anticipate in these hotels.

Lodging that is long term is an extended stay property. These are especially favourite among people who are moving to a new place where their permanent accommodation is yet to be ready or yet to be found. In such Toronto hotels the room rates are pretty low but then so are the amenities that are provided. Some of them might be a tiny more welcoming than others but basically they don’t wage very much more than a room. Most of these rooms might come with a parking space and laundry facilities. The rooms are well maintained but maid services will be acquirable just once or twice a week. Hence these places are cheaper. The downtown Toronto hotels on the other hand are situated where all the buzz and excitement is so you will find a good choice of luxurious rooms and suites there.

Then you have the limited service Toronto hotels. The hotel facilities provided here differ a lot as this market has a lot of competition and there are a lot of profits to be earned. Since such hotels in Toronto could compete with the full service hotels, they wage an additional range of amenities than would be acquirable in an ordinary travel lodge. Like the downtown Toronto hotels, they will wage maid service on a regular basis and probably even have a pool or a workout room. If they have meeting rooms, they will be very limited and small. Besides, most of them have now started providing free breakfast as a marketing manoeuvre to draw more customers.

The full service Toronto hotels have the ideal in hotel facilities but then the rates are also a lot higher as compared to the other two categories. To find the ideal rates, it would be wise to pick one of the downtown Toronto hotels close to a limited service hotel as the full service Toronto hotels will be forced to lower their prices in order to draw more customers to fill their rooms.

Among the full service Toronto hotels are the Hilton and the Marriott. While limited service loyalty programs get you extra points for rooms, full service hotels treat returning customers like kings with free breakfast and cocktail hours. Most of the downtown Toronto hotels are equipped with swimming pool, a well equipped fitness club, exceptional meeting rooms, a snack shop, banquet facilities and a full service restaurant.

Head to Lima for a 2010 Holiday with a Difference

29 June 2010 by

If you are exhausted of the usual package type holidays to Europe and looking for something different, offering substitute experiences and cultures then think about a holiday to Lima – the capital of Peru.

Although any mention of the South American country might conjure up thoughts of “deepest, darkest, Peru”, as quoted in the riotous tales of Paddington Bear, the thriving city of Lima is actually situated on the coast and as well as featuring some rather stunning Pacific beaches, offers eclectic structure and mythologic nightlife. With an historic centre Lima is a cosmopolitan city, the largest in Peru and benefits from a mild climate delivering evenhandedly hot days during summer; certainly warm enough to spend days sunbathing on the long Lima beaches soaking up the rays.

One of the major focal points of the city is the Plaza San Martin which features a spectacular monument to mark Peru’s independence from Spanish rule in 1821 The square is surrounded by impressive public buildings, many betraying the city’s colonial past – most notably the Town Hall – and is also home to the chic and stylish bar Club Nacional.

Accommodation varies from backpacker favourites such as youth hostels and budget boarding houses all the way up to 5-star luxury for those with a few more pounds to spend. Getting there is easy enough too with flights to Lima operating from London, normally with a change in Madrid, or another peninsula Peninsula hub.

Once there, when looking for a ordered back night out and a taste of what the locals get up to then you must head for the peñas in Miraflores and Barranco. Here you will find a series of music bars that offer folksy Creole, Afro Peruvian and traditional Peruvian song and dance, while serving traditional criollo fare and local beer and pisco sour. Be there for around 9.30pm as the majority of shows begin around 10pm. Anticipate to pay a small cover charge for an trusty taste of Lima’s nightlife peñas which can't be beaten!

Many of the tourist attractions in the city involve religious buildings such as the impressive Monastery of San Francisco and the Lima Cathedral which are connected by series of underground catacombs. Any visitor to Lima with an interest in structure could spend many hours discovering some of the city’s more one-of-a-kind buildings.

Offering a perfect blend of cultural delights, leisure activities and warm summer climate Lima could well be appearing on many people’s holiday itineraries throughout 2010 – will you be one of them?

Voiding the Power of Your Tithe

29 June 2010 by

You are a robber, you are a thief, you are cursed and are busy under a curse!

How many times have you heard a Minister of the Gospel of Christ make that statement?  How often has Malachi 3:8-9 been used as the basis for collecting tithes and offerings?  Will a man rob God?  Yet you have robbed me.  But ye say, wherein have we robbed thee?  In tithes and offerings.  Ye are cursed with a curse for ye have robbed me even this whole nation.

Did you know that at the time Malachi was written, tithes and offerings equaled 33%?  I am sure that in 2009 most of the Body of Christ is NOT giving 33% for Kingdom purposes.  So does that mean that the entire Body of Christ is cursed?  God forbid – of course not and let us not forget that the principle of tithing was established prior to the law being given.

How long will this erroneous teaching be taught to the Body of Christ?  Is it being taught to browbeat us into giving or is it being taught because the “teachers” have not taken the time to research and study what the Lord has stated and is actually saying about giving?  Did you know there is more written in the Bible about finances than there is written on heaven, hell, prayer and faith?  Remember that 2 Timothy 2:15 admonishes us to “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”, which lets us know that the Word can be wrongly divided.

 Let’s dig a tiny deeper.

If we are cursed according to Malachi 3:8-9, how do we reconcile and/or harmonize these scriptures with 2 Corinthians 9:7 which says that “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity for God loveth a cheerful giver?

Since the Word of God does not contradict itself, how do we or can we harmonize the two scriptures?  We can't because the scriptures are contrasts–they are opposites-one given under the Old Covenant (Malachi) and one given under the New Covenant (2 Corinthians).  The Body of Christ must realize that the Old Covenant and the New Covenant is more than a blank page in the Bible.

Under the Old Covenant (Malachi 3:8-9) – laws and commands were given and if they were not followed to the letter, punishment was automatic because of the old fallen nature.  Under the Old Covenant people could not be born again, they could not be internally changed; therefore, punishment was given as a reminder of the commandments such as being cursed with a curse.  It was negative motivation and fear of punishment that drove people to give under the law and there is no joy in giving when it is given out of guilt, fear, debt or obligation.  The obvious impossibility of carrying out such a moral program should make it plain that no one can sustain a relationship with God that way.  The mortal who lives in right relationship with God does it by embracing what God arranges for him.  Doing things for God is the opposite of entering into what God does for you. book had it right: “The mortal who believes God, is set right by God—and that is the real life.” Rule-keeping does not naturally evolve into living by establishment but only perpetuates itself in more and more rule-keeping, a fact observed in Scripture: “The one who does these things [rule-keeping] continues to live by them.” (Galatians 3:11-12 The Message).

Under the New Covenant (2 Corinthians 9:7) – we have a relationship of love and grace and by the Holy Spirit we are born again, we have a new nature, a nature whereby the Holy Spirit dwells and communes with us on the inside; He leads us and guides us to give out of our love for God and what has been done for us through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Christ redeemed us from that self-defeating, cursed life by absorbing it absolutely into himself.  Do you remember the Scripture that says, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”? That is what happened when Jesus was nailed to the cross: He became a curse and at the same time dissolved the curse and now, because of that, the air is cleared and we can see that Abraham’s blessing is present and acquirable for Gentiles too. We are all healthy to receive God’s life, His Spirit in and with us by believing—just the way Abraham received it. (Galatians 3:13-14 The Message).

So what am I saying?  Am I saying that you should not tithe?  I certainly am not – I am saying, however, that you are not cursed if you do not tithe.  You are not very wise since tithes and offering is the Kingdom of God’s way to prosperity – but you are not cursed.  I believe that we should live to give, live to give out of love for what Dad God has done for us through Jesus Christ, live to give to promote God’s kingdom on earth, live to give to be a blessing to others.

Luke 12:34 tells us “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also”.

Luke 6:38 tells us to “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.  For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”  So if giving is all there is to prosperity, all tithers should be millionaires at a minimum.  So I recommend that it is not our giving that is the problem rather the motive or attitude of the heart of our giving that is the problem for there is no joy in giving when it is given out of guilt, fear, debt or obligation.

Speaking of tithing, Malachi 3:10 says to “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there might be meat in mine house, and establish me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.  Well, what is the “storehouse” and what is the “meat” referred to in that scripture?  We will deal with that in my next article.

Until then, remember that Jesus Adores You and Dad God is not angry at you but He is devilishly and unconditionally in love with you.  Stay Encouraged!

Turkey is the most popular destination for summer 2010 holidays

29 June 2010 by

Now that Christmas has passed, next year’s package holiday campaigns have started. A price war is emerging as the industry players look to capitalise on a recovering travel market and wage good news to shareholders as soon as possible.

The top destinations for next year are stated to be in third place Orlando in Florida, the old favourite Majorca in second spot and the number one destination for UK holidaymakers is currently held by Turkey. I’m not surprised to be honest. Turkey is a fantastic destination, guaranteed to be very hot weather while being not too costly and benefiting us Brits since it sits out of the euro zone.

Excellent news if you are ready to book your next summer holiday. By shopping around you can find some great bargain Turkey holiday packages with savings offered by one operator of up to £200 per booking if you book before the beginning of February. There are other deals including other money off packages and child go free packages. The ideal Turkey holiday packages will be dependent on whom you are going on holiday with.

The Turkish resort, Dalaman has experienced a big increase in bookings and after you see and experience it you’ll comprehend why.  The resort features a mix of historical interests such as ancient tombs and can be found between the sea and the mountains, it is a truly incredible place. The big increase in the number of tourists heading there has meant large investment is being made in the resort from improving infrastructure, road developments and at the airfield but thankfully it is holding onto its natural beauty. You can see the very rare and fortified loggerhead turtles up and down the river as well as on the beach. These animals should mean the area will continue to develop but keep is beautiful surroundings.

Dalaman is swiftly becoming the destination of choice with many people booking these Turkey holiday packages to witness the astonishing wildlife, natural beauty, large natural beach and be some of the first to experience the new marina developments.

Top Tips for Travelling With Teenagers

29 June 2010 by

Travelling with a teenager can be a challenging experience, but the good news is that it needn’t be this way. With a tiny bit of preparation and a relaxed attitude, fun and laughter is guaranteed! Great Hotels Organisation offers a handful of top tips to make your holiday as stress free as doable and advocates some of our most teenage-friendly hotels.

Top tips for travelling with a teenager:

Book a hotel which offers plenty of family-friendly entertainment: watersports, diving, water parks & evening entertainment.

Make sure that they have plenty to keep themselves occupied for the journey: books, magazines, MP3 players, and handheld game consoles are generally well received amongst teens! Pack a few travel games too – playing cards together will keep the whole family entertained for hours.

Remember that teenagers are on the brink of adulthood, so give them some responsibility – let them select an activity or restaurant for all of the family to enjoy.

Teenagers often want their own space: get an adjoining room or even better, try booking adjacent rooms so you’re near enough to keep an eye on them but far enough to give them their own space.

Bend the rules! You’re on holiday and arguments are ideal avoided, so keep the peace and ignore the fact that they want a lie in or only want to take dessert!

If arguments do occur then try not to live on them, this will only cause tension during your holiday.
