Where is Delray Beach Located?
First important thing, you should know where Delray Beach is located. It’s on the East side of Florida, 20 miles south of Palm Beach, 28 miles north of Ft. Lauderdale and 50 miles north of Miami.
There are two International airports that service this area; Palm Beach International Airport located in Palm Beach, Palm Beach County and Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport located in Ft. Lauderdale in Broward County.
Palm Beach is a smaller and nicer airfield but if you’re on a budget, then you might want to price check both to find the cheapest flights.
Delray Beach Has Beaches That Literally Are Award Winning Beaches!
For decades, Delray Beach, Florida has been known as a premier resort pass destination in South Florida. It’s well-known for its award-winning public beaches, fishing, boating, kite surfing, kayaking, boogie boarding and more!
In 2002, The City of Delray Beach received recognition from the “American Coastal Coalition” for Delray’s achievement in restoring their pristine white sandy beaches.
The Travel Holiday entrepot voted Delray’s Beaches as the top public beaches in the southeastern United Says for swimming and one of the top 35 beaches in the entire country!
The beaches in Delray have been officially certified as clean, healthy, and environmentally well-managed by the Clean Beaches Council.
Delray Beach has been rated #2 in South Florida for the ideal family beach and the ideal sand castle building beach. To be considered in the rating of ideal family beach, the beaches had to have picnic areas, showers, lifeguards and sand suitable for building great sandcastles. Additionally, having a playground area and being a site for annual festivals or events were worth bonus points.
And Delray beaches are also known as the ideal sandcastle building beaches!
The City of Delray Beach Has Won Awards Too!
Delray Beach won the coveted “All-America City” honor in 1993 and 2001.
Yep, that’s right…Two times! The only city in Florida to ever win this prestigious honor twice!
The City of Delray is one of the cleanest cities in South Florida and public country is a #1 priority in this safety-conscious beachfront community.
Now this is very impressive for a beach community population just 60,000.
