A hot August hike on Honeymoon Island, just north of Clearwater, Florida. This is a say park and we just about had the whole island to ourselves this day. The nature hike is about 1 hour. We all concur that for swimming and people watching, the Clearwater beach and pier was the place, but if you want your own private spot, this is good. From here we drove up to Tarpon Springs and had a wonderful greek dinner at Hella’s restauarant and bakery down near the fishing/sponge boats. There are about 6 Greek restuarants that looked decent, but seeing the pasteries in the bakery insured we would at least have a good dessert. Great coffee. everyone scoffs at going to Florida in August but it just made swimming and getting wet all the better.
