Dubai Tourism ? Tips You Can?t Miss!

30 January 2012 by
Categories: Travel Tips

This is my third article on a series of articles I have written with Dubai tourism tips. And yes, I will share even more tips here, and to be honest, there is so much to cover about this beautiful city in the United Arab Emirates that I could write for months! This time I’ll share with you more basic information worth knowing in your first visit.

Let’s speak about money.  As you know, money is important to get around any city; luckily Dubai has both national and international banks with the same services you’d anticipate in any major city.  But know that on Dubai banks will only stay open from 8 AM to 1 PM from Saturday to Wednesday!  Yes, this means no noon bank transactions; the only exception is Wednesday, when the bank is open from 8 PM until noon.

Now, if you have credit cards, in Dubai they accept all the common ones, including Mastercard, Visa, Diners Club and American Express. Still, cash is good to have, especially if you plan shopping on small establishment, since the majority of them don’t have a card processing system.  The currency on Dubai is the dirham, and at the time of writing, you can exchange on dollar for 3.67 dirhams.

As for tipping, in Dubai the tipping rate is lower than in the US.  While here, the tipping is 20%, in Dubai is 10% and that is considered acceptable, of course you can give more as a tip.  As a general rule, do what I do and simply reward great service with an according tip, after all that’s what it is about right?

In Dubai the week is different, this might be handy when it comes to businesses. The weekend days are Thursday and Friday, but major closing days takes place on Friday and Saturday.  Establishments often have common hours from 9 to 5 in the majority of cases, some stores even remain open until 10 PM, excellent for people who want to go shopping at night.

These are just some of the tips and information you can find on Dubai travel. I am just scratching the surface here. For a complete tourism guide that will include all the information you could possibly want, check out All Things Dubai.

Top 5 Tips For Travel – Some Things to Consider

13 January 2012 by
Categories: Travel Tips

Before travelling to any part of the world you must always do your research. By doing so, you will be ready for whatever situation might come your way. Below are some of the top five tips for travel that I use on a regular basis.

Tip #1: Travel Insurance – Tips For Travel

Find out if your insurance company will cover you while you are overseas. In the event of an emergency, cost is not your first concern. It is however, a third or fourth concern. Having this expense seems unnecessary, but as the saying goes, “it’s superior to be innocuous than sorry”. Healthcare in some parts of the world can be very expensive, and this is not something you really want to be thinking about if you are in some kind of emergency.

You should also make sure you have the address and phone number of your countries embassy. In an emergency you want to have this information readily available. Definitely one of the most essential tips for travel I can think of.

Tip #2: Choosing Your Airfare – Tips For Travel

Shop around for cheap airfares. One great resource I use is Expedia.com for comparisons of airfare deals. Once you’ve found the ideal option, go and check that airline’s website. Usually the fare will be even cheaper especially if you have a promo code.

Tip #3 – Accommodation – Tips For Travel

Check your accommodation rates over and over again, don’t go for the first option that is acquirable and do your research at least two to three months in advance.

One great option to think about is timeshare rentals. If you are planning a week-long vacation, renting timeshare can save you hundreds on the cost of accommodation.

Tip #4: Spending Your Money the Smart Way – Tips For Travel

Take twice the money you originally think you’ll need. Use ATM machines whenever doable and refrain carrying money in your wallet. Keep in your shoe. In an emergency, can get you a ride, meal, and a phone call. I have heard stories about people being robbed and having to beg their way back to their hotel. Even harder when you have no ID on you, so always carry some spare cash.

Buy your food in a shop and don’t take in restaurants all the time.

You should also notify your credit card companies when traveling for long periods of time. The last thing you want to happen is to have your cards cancelled by your credit card company because they believed the card had been stolen.

Tip #5: Getting Around – Tips For Travel

Avoid public transport when and if possible. It’s slow and inefficient. There are rare exceptions of course, but overall it’s not the most effective way to use the limited time you might have.

Overall just go with the flow. Traveling, especially aboard is one of the ideal experiences you will ever have. You’ll meet tons of other people who just want to see the world and have a good time doing it just like you!

Happy travels!

Tahiti Moorea And Bora Bora Travel Tips

8 January 2012 by
Categories: Vacations

Long before French painter Paul Gauguin ventured to island for inspiration in the late 19th century, the mystical charm of this Polynesian paradise beckoned explorers with its palm shaded beaches, turquoise lagoons, emerald mountains, and understated simplicity.

Also known as French Polynesia, island and its sister islands continue to entice people the world over with unparalleled beauty and blissful tranquility.

Comprised of 118 islands and atolls spread crossways an area as massive as Western Europe, a island pass truly offers something for everyone. Your Polynesian hosts exhibit their warmth and vitality through music, dance, and even flowers, for what would a journey to the South Pacific be without a signature lei?

Where else can you lodge in a thatched roof villa situated right above crystal clear azure water with all the amenities of a first class hotel? How about a taste of the subtle culinary and cultural variations of Tahitis many different islands by way of luxurious cruise ships, super yachts, and customized sailboats that make getting there half the fun?

Rejuvenate yourself in one of the islands many spas, and behold how your cares back home seem a million miles away. Set your eyes ablaze by diving into Tahitis wondrous waters and taking in the spectacle presented by the South Pacifics luminescent fish, docile sharks, giant manta rays, and reefs bursting with life. Ahh, life is good in Tahiti. Very good.

Although Tahitis wide assortment of islands attracts travelers of different stripes, two of the most favourite are Bora Bora and Moorea, and for good reason. These tropical gems are a stones throw from the main island of island and wage a gamut of seductions that make you wish you could stay forever.

Considered the most stunning of the Oceanic Islands, Bora Bora is akin to Hawaii 50 years ago, only more beautiful. Those in the know state whether you stay for a day or a year, the island never loses its magical charm. One of Tahitis most populous islands, you will find more things to see and do on Bora Bora than many of its sister islands.

Bora Bora is truly one of natures most inspired creations. The islands lagoon, resembling an artists palette of blues and greens, mesmerizes, delivering a friendly reminder that, no, Toto, you are not in river anymore. Towering Mt. Otemanu watches over Bora Bora, like a beacon protecting all that lies beneath.

Swim in warm, calm water, canvass to uninhabited isles, join a 4×4 expedition for adventures into the islands wild interior rainforest, and snorkel or scuba dive in coral gardens. Word to the wise no visit is complete without a once in a lifetime shark and manta ray feeding excursion.

In fact, many of the most exhilarating activities in Bora Bora center around water, if for no other reason because the lagune is so spectacular and can be explored via snorkeling, diving, jet ski, outrigger canoe, sailboat, and windsurfer. Once you have had your fill, dry off while sunning yourself on perfect white sand beaches that envelop the lagoon.

The liveliest of Tahitis outer islands, Mooreas casual, barefoot lifestyle leaves you feeling one step closer to nirvana. Escape to a deserted motu, fish, dive, snorkel, or play tennis and golf. Delve into the myths, rituals, and traditions of the Polynesian culture at Tiki Village, or sway to ancient rhythms in a hammock.

Moorea is perfectly suited for exploration by car, on foot, or as part of a guided hiking, 4×4, or helicopter tour. The islands mountain peaks burst to life with waterfalls running down fern-covered cliffs, surrounded by picturesque turquoise lagoons.

These stunning alpine wonders are easily accessible, inviting you to venture past plantations, idyllic streams, and deep valleys home to cotton, coffee, sugar cane, and pineapple plantations. Guided hiking trails wind upward through rainforests reaching the islands highest points, with views that make you feel like you are on top of the world.

Back at sea level, swim side by side with dolphins at Mooreas Dolphin Center, and top it off with one of the islands wildly pleasing Polynesian diversion shows.

Tahiti hotels and other accommodations range

from stilted bungalows and villas perched above water to 5 star hotels with unforgettable ocean views, island offers exotic, luxurious accommodations for each taste.

Combining excellent service, delectable cuisine, and Polynesian ambience, you certainly will not feel like you are roughing it. On the contrary, Tahitis lodging options are the perfect complement to the tropical illusion you will experience each day when you leave your room.

DO NOT GO THERE – Places not to travel to, due to pollution, dangers, crime

24 December 2011 by

Do not go there!

Polution, crime and long lines. A new guide book made by Peter Greenberg guides you away from the worst travel destinations on the earth.

Places you very well can refrain is listed up by Mr. Greenberg, and also lists up the airports you should refrain and at what times it is wise to visit sights around the world. A handy tiny guide, with some other appearance than other travel guides acquirable to you.

Go there in the winter: According to Greenberg the lines at the Eiffeil tower in Paris is worst in the summer (big surprise?). He advocates of course to visit the sights in Paris in November and December months.

The world wide web is full of travel tips sites and guides that tells you were to go and what to see. An example of a travel guide is TripAdvisor

However, now there is a guide book acquirable to you that tell you where you should not travel and make sure travelers stay away from these places.

The author calls his guide book; «Don’t go there!» And is listing up places not to go to and should refrain and at times you should refrain some places.

Here you will find a good overview of travel destinations that at first glance looks exotic and exiting, but be aware that some of these places can have surprises you would like to stay away from.

The guide book lists up the worst airports in the world and common tourist traps in addition to cover topics like pollution, crime and the worst environmental sinners.

Stinking beaches and perilous roads have also been covered by the investigative traveler.

Several cruise ships are mentioned as not having acceptable sanitary conditions, demand of food hygiene and falsification of discharge logs.

You will in addition to advices get anecdotes about places you should refrain visiting.

For example the increased pollution in Delhi in India is caused by the increasing care income amongst the normal people since a Indian automobile like Nano is sold for around 2500 USD which more people can afford in today’s India. The paradox is that some of the new automobiles pollute more than the older models according to what is written in the book.

The air in Calcutta is so bad that the police has to carry oxygen tanks with them., so you would not like to go for a achievement and sightseeing there, unless you are a heavy smoker and do not mind to get some extra chemicals down your throat.

New York is a splendid city to visit, but be aware that statistically there will be a hurricane in the Huge Apple soon. According to the guide book from Greenberg, the geography tells that the easterly coast of U.S.A is vulnerable to hurricanes and huge storms, and huge storms come on a regular basis to these areas through the last 100 years. The last huge event was back in 1938, so watch out now.

In Pattaya polluted sanitary water is dumped into the ocean from massive apartment complexes. The authorities made a law that complexes larger than 60 units should clean up their waste water before dumping it into the ocean. However, the entrepreneurs just found out to save costs they build complexes with 59 units in them and can therefore continue to dump sewage into the beach waters.

In the U.S.A you can visit the garlic capital called Gilroy in California, which is Americas arm pit. Battle Mountain in Nevada and the largest hand made well in Greensburg in Kansas, or maybe not.

First of all, this is a guide book for the normal tourist, which needs some guidance to refrain the tourist traps, and not refrain places were your health is at risk.

Here is a summary of destinations that Greenberg categorize as the worst candidates within their category.

Worst airports

Sheremetevo in Moscow – corruption, lines, lousy service, dirty and depressive. Make sure you have dollars and toilet paper with you before you arrive here. There are no alternatives as the other 3 airports in Moscow are equally bad.

Ninoy Aquino in Manila – taxi-mafia, corruption and general incompetence, but there is an substitute in Clark International which is newer.

Leopold in Dakar –Do not spend to long time here, it’s hazardous as criminals rule the area in and around the airfield and usually luggage gets lost here. There are no alternatives.

Charles de Gaulle in Paris – smell, arrogance, and long lines combined with demand of logistics which is deemed to be the worst. Alternatives would be Paris-Orly or Paris-Beauvais
Congonhas in São Paulo – is one of the most hazardous airports in the world due to country of flights due to short runway and the say of it. There are no real alternatives as Guarulhos is to busy.

Pollution

Tianying, China – an industrial city with lots of lead and heavy metals in the food. • Chongqing, China – crowded coal and steel city with an invisible sky line.

Cairo, Egypt – 2,1 percent of the deaths are caused by air pollution and the city is full of industry.

Delhi, India –the second largest polluted city in the world due to lots of traffic and lots of cheap automobiles which pollutes lots.

Calcutta, India – 70 percent of the people there has asthmatic problems or lounge problems in one way or another. And the police use oxygen tanks.

Windsor, Canada – is called North Americas most polluted city due to wind carried polluted air from Detroit.

Mexico City, Mexico – lies in a pot with lots of ozone and particles in the air. The city is encapsulated by smog at all time.

Polluted waters

Pattaya, Thailand – once it was a beautiful beach, but now the growing population pumps out pure sewage into the beach waters.

Aral lake, Uzbekistan – dehydration causing death of fishes, salt and pure drinking water causes lots of diseases.

King-river, Australia – dumping ground for copper mines, and all animal life is gone in parts of the river.

Bangladesh – salt water destroys the drinking water and agriculture along the coast line pollutes a lot. There is a high content of arsenic in the water further inland.

Jakarta, Indonesia – The massive drinking water source is polluted due to massive activity of chemical treatment of textiles in the area.

Sarno-elva, Italy – Heavy metal pollution which pollutes rivers running into the city bay.

Toxins and broadcasting activity

Bhopal, India – A huge happening in 1984 which still brings heavy smell close to the old works there.

Tsjernobyl, Ukraine – A known history of tragedy which is now used for extreme tourism as guided tours are given there. Do not risk this, stay away from there. • Dzerzjinsk, Russia – Fabrication of chemical weapons during the cold war and lots of remnants can be found in the region still.

Kabwe, Zambia – lead exploitation up till 1994 and we can still find hazardous metals in the connector and waters.

La Oroya, Peru – This place is full of heavy metals due to the industry in this area. • Linfen, China – is amongst the worst places in China and that tells you the most you need to know. Bring oxygen and water before you enter this area of the world.

Smelling places

Taean, South-Korea – oil spill in 2007 makes the place smell terrible even today. • Rotorua, New Zealand – Geothermal activity makes the whole city smell sulfur, so do not plan to dress up in your finest clothes or taste good food and wine here.

Naples, Italy – Very bad handling of garbage makes the trip to Vesuvius and the ruins not worth the trip.

Dharavi-slum, Mumbai, India –a rapid growing slum with open sewage and terrible sanitary conditions.

Most tourist traffic

New York – worst before Christmas and new years eve as well as during Thanksgiving.  Expensive hotels and crowded city makes it a nightmare for most of us. Its ideal going there between Jan and March or when the locals have long weekends in the summer and escape the city.

Disney World, Florida – endless lines in school holidays, Christmas, easter, spring break and 4th of July. An advice is to go there on a Tuesday and first go to Magic Kingdom, then Epcot followed by Hollywood Studios and last Animal Kingdom.

Grand Canyon – worst to visit during the normal weekdays since excursions and tours makes up most of the traffic

Top Ten Travel Tips

17 December 2011 by
Categories: Travel Tips

Have you ever experienced a serious disaster whilst on holiday? If not, it’s merely a matter of time. It has been stated there are two kinds of travellers, those that have experienced a problem holiday and those that are still going to.

Tasked with identifying the top ten travel tips immediately got my mind going but an intent soon took shape. Why not use the experiences of the professionals, ask them to refer the more common causes of problems when travelling. Unbeknown to me this certainly dropped the cat amongst the pigeons, largely because limiting this to only ten became a problem, thank you so much to all those who were a part of the panel.

One of the most common problems and a unanimous choice of the panel were problems surrounding logistical arrangements. Largely related to reservations; dates and ticketing, these can be problematic despite the assist and simplicity of the internet. It is imperative when planning any holiday to any destination that all bookings are made well in advance, followed up either by e-mail or telephone a few days before your departure and still in time to rectify problems if discovered. After this has been done, prevent further problems by ensuring you have proof in the form of duplicates of any relevant document or reference number, this could be a receipt confirmation of a deposit paid or any item depending on your individualized arrangements. This is one of those recommendations where prevention is definitely far superior than cure.

Our second tip is all encompassing and covers the packing of essential items. Obviously these items might vary according to your individualized plans but would perhaps include items such as passports and ID documents; applicable drivers licences; money – credit cards, wallets and other financial needs; mobile phones and camera’s, (get with it, preferably digital) are essential items nowadays, together with supporting items such as chargers and memory cards. On my individualized list are always sunglasses, activity equipment, a few books, a pack of cards, a multi-purpose pocket knife and other smaller items or games which always come in handy.

How are we doing so far, the bottom line is that with tip numbers one and two you can go nearly anywhere in the world and if you have forgotten anything else you can buy them en route.

Tip number three is so totally boring you might well stop reading at this point but it remains one of the most common causes of holidays being cancelled. Before you leave home ensure that all domestic matters are resolved and tucked in to bed. These will again vary but will certainly surround sufficient locking up and security issues; paying all accounts, in particular municipal services; cancelling any deliveries; ensuring access is acquirable to a trusted friend or relative in the event of a fire or emergency; ensuring pets are adequately cared for and that someone responsible is healthy to contact you in the case of emergency during your holiday. Yes…boring….but oh so often the cause of having to either come back primeval or returning to grappling a smelly deep freeze or worse.

The basics are covered and now we can move onto the fun part, tip number four surrounds choosing the right holiday for your needs and enjoyment. To haul three kids under ten years old to a game reserve for ten days will stretch your patience and theirs, you might enjoy spending half an hour looking at a bird or inactivity for an Elephant to come to a waterhole while sipping a Chardonnay, they certainly wouldn’t. If you have had a really stressful year and are going on holiday for a time out, a few days in London followed by a few in Rome and a low cost flight via Moscow to save a few cents would mean lots of flights; too many airports and complicated transit arrangements. Our panel recommends taking a few extra minutes to analyse the real needs of all travelling partners before selecting your holiday destination.

You have analysed your own needs and decided on let’s state a scuba diving holiday as an example. Tip number five stays with destination choice and is all about research. That’s easy I hear you saying, once you’ve decided what type of holiday you want. However, you could also end up on a scuba diving holiday in monsoon season, perhaps to a great destination at most times of the year but in the month you have chosen, it’s infested with mosquito’s and a temperature of 45 degrees, is that what you wanted.

Perhaps you might be looking for a quiet and romantic getaway and select a week in a Spanish seaside village only to find out it clashes with a local political election and the local school holidays. Time researching local conditions is well spent, watch particularly of special offers or discounts, these are usually offered for a reason and often due to seasonality or other sub-optimal characteristics of the destination at the time the offer applies. This same principle applies to discounted flights and packages, it’s important to be fully aware of which items and costs are included and not included in the price.

How far have we gone so far, in summary we have the logistics and essential equipment under control, chosen a stunning destination to ensure our needs are covered and we have selected the dates to suit the destination characteristics.

Tip number six is about the modern day wonder of the travellers’ world. You guessed it, the internet. This modern tool enables you to ensure you are fully au fait with all and any information you might need. From disco’s to dive centres, museums to mausoleums, cathedrals to camping grounds, the information is easily acquirable to you from the comfort of your home; office or imperfectness which, an world wide web café. Referring back to our Spanish village, if you want to know the history, what to see and do while you’re there, the world wide web provides this service. Even once you’re there, if you want to send photos and news to someone at home, the world wide web has really made this simple. I read recently that in excess of 70% of all travel arrangements are now made on-line, wow, that is an awesome number and it is no doubt climbing, not without reason.

A list of top ten tips would definitely be incomplete without a reference to the importance of sufficient packing. Notice we state sufficient as it does vary according to destination and travel method. A automobile trip to Port Alfred with a trailer and roof demolition is a far different scenario than a flight to London. Tip number seven is to pack early; to pack correctly and most of all to pack according to a well prepared list. One often makes the mistake of packing too much, leaving tiny room for error and no space to include a few souvenirs or that tee-shirt that looked so good in the market. On a individualized note our family has a rule, what you pack you carry; this has a fantastic effect of ensuring no one packs without a plan.

The boring effort of the budget. We all have dream destinations we hope to get to one day; this is unfortunately not a reality for most of us. Tip number eight is to ensure you remain within your individualized limits of expenditure. Interest rates are high and could get higher; credit offered by banks can be easily obtained by utilising the credit card options so often available. You don’t want to spend the year after your holiday stressed out about how you’re going to pay it back during the rest of the year. Plan adequately before and during your holiday. Whilst it’s certainly fun to spoil yourselves during a holiday, we recommend you allot a regular allowance to apiece mortal and to the whole group; this will certainly help control costs, particularly in an international destination when one is not fully conversant, it can come back and bite quite hard.

The members of our panel are all seasoned travellers, local and overseas. In conversation we certainly learned that all had on occasion bumped their heads or made often silly mistakes. Our unanimous tip number nine is to enjoy South Africa. As residents of this beautiful country we are all totally blessed to live within a reasonable distance from either a beach; lake; mountain; game reserve or whatever it might be that appeals to your family. Too often we feel the need to travel far and wide when it’s all on our doorstep. We might travel to an exotic dive destination but haven’t yet experienced Aliwal Shoal; sit on a Mauritian Beach when our coast offers some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, perhaps even camping in France when you’ve never been to the Drakensberg or Clarens.

It might be a cliché but we really do have it all in one country. We certainly hope that our leaders will take each action to ensure that it stays that way. We in turn need to appreciate it and invest in local tourism and the job creation it offers. Our panel felt that we need to market ourselves as a destination a tiny superior than we do, encouraging local travellers that port is perhaps not always superior than Cape Town. Local is lekker, it has its place alongside braaivleis, biltong, sunny skies and all the rest.

This might be our last tip of the ten we were confined to but it is the simplest and most important – have fun! You’ve worked hard, you deserve your holiday, please don’t forget to enjoy it. In most cases when on holiday, one is surrounded by those your love the most, those dearest and closest.

What an absolute blessing to be healthy to spend calibre time in a holiday destination with those you love.

Best Travel Tips for a Fabulous Vacations

14 December 2011 by
Categories: Travel Tips

Traveling is such a great experience that we thought we could do this all the time.

Unfortunately, we get very less time to travel in this fast & furious world. Mostly of us only get a couple weeks a year (if we’re lucky) to take our vacations.

Make ensure that those trips are the extremely ideal which are having some kind of humor in that(unlike the many travel movies where there are nightmares around apiece corner), we are providing our top 10 travel tips to make your vacations unforgettable – in a better way of course.

Top 10 Travel Tips

1. Plan primeval & book when a ideal deal fits your budget. Companies pop up apiece day for more and more travel. Why? Because as the baby boomer age group gets grown-up & once they boot their children out of the house, they are traveling more and more. Ideal deals are simple to get and many sound companies that offer great & economical rates and fares.

2. Be familiar about your destination and the ideal times to travel. Remember when Angelina Jolie takes the whole family to cross-country only to find out favorite Fun Park, which is closed? Do not let that happen to you. Know what is going on and when the ideal times to travel are. For example, most people know that March and April tend to be spring break times. Well, if you take your tiny ones to Panama City Florida during these months, chances for you to go to run into wild.

3. Take care of your belongings. Making sure the family pet is also taken care off.

4. Budget wisely. Make sure that if the worst happened you still have resources to start back on. If you are on a budget, be smart & enjoy doing things on a trip.

5. Don’t forget your key documents. There is nothing more frustrating than forgetting something when you are hundreds or thousands of miles away from home.

6. Again, pick up your area of choice to determine how close you are to different activities and restaurants. Its nothing like landing a great deal on a hotel which near by beach, market & restaurant for a mythologic vacation. For example, a hotel that is so far away from the beach you need to catch a train or rented automobile just to get there. In addition, you want to make sure that everyone traveling with you will have fun! Again, in Las Vegas Vacation when the children are too young to gamble, they have to come up with creative ways to have a good time.

7. Sign up for online entrepot & newspapers keep your fruit to the ground about your destination of choice.

8. Plan it properly it can really bite you in the behind on certain things like rentals and such.

9. Make a checklist and to be sure, that everything is in order before and during the trip. From booking to packing to check in relaxation, do not change to remember anything.

These are our top 10 ideal travel tips and we live by them apiece time we take a vacation. Hope you will too as we know your trip will be much more enjoyable.

Business Travel Tips For Newbies

3 December 2011 by
Categories: Travel Tips

As with any area of specialization, there are business travelers who always seem to know what they are doing and those who constantly seem to be in a say of crisis. The business traveler who has been at it a while figures out some insider information that not many travelers know. These tiny travel secrets make the world of difference when traveling. And you can bet they are not going to share this information with just anyone because this is the kind of information that can change the nature of your business travel forever.

Your laptop is a crucial piece of equipment as you travel. In an airfield emergency situation, your wireless laptop can be used to change reservations so you can refrain those long lines to get on the next flight out. You can reserve a rental automobile or snag one of the few remaining hotel rooms in town right from the comfort of a seat at the airport. Then the savvy business traveler can casually stroll to his or her designation as others around them panic because they knew how to leverage technology and the world wide web to bail themselves out of a crisis situation.

But one aspect of using your laptop to rescue yourself when the airfield is in shut down is the limited power of laptops. To see your battery go dead just when you needed it the most is like watching your ship sink as the sharks circle the lifeboat. What not many people know is that there are open electrical outlets in airports that are there for cleaning crews if you know where they are. Usually these outlets are just under the windows that overlook the landing strips so if you can secure a seat near these outlets, you can charge up your laptop and keep your lifeline to the world alive.

These days come and go and are part of the experience of all-day trip to China. One has to have an open mind when traveling in China. It is a place with thousands of years of history and culture overnight that it is trying to adapt to Western lifestyles.

You need to have a very open mind when you travel in China. I have listed below a few China Travel Tips that will make life more bearable tiny pee in their travel experience of China.

Travel Tips – China toilet wise

  • Never anticipate a clean toilet 100% of the time.
  • Be prepared; Bring some tissues.
  • You might need to use a toilet squatting, again, if you know this is not a shock. If you do not know how to use a toilet building, try the following experiment at home.

While something to keep in support with both hands, lower your body down in a low squatting position, so that the cheeks of his bottom was nearly touching the heels or the back of his calf. Now, go with your hands. See if you stay in this position for at least 1 minute. If it is upside down or could not get up after a squat toilet could be a problem for you! , Has the right to be happy you did.

  • If you get a clean toilet, Go… might not come again for a while.
  • Many public toilets around the cities, usually those who are to pay OK (RMB, 5), the other ideal to stay away from if you can. You will soon notice as you achievement around the cities.
  • Be warned that public spaces such as bus and train stations, which tend to be the class as “hard toilets”, but if you are going gotta gotta go.
  • Outside the huge cities, toilet systems are old or have very close plumbing / piping and get easily blocked. In these cases, a small basket is usually the bathroom next, it is used for toilet paper.

One of the ideal China Travel Tips toilet I can give is the use of the hotel lobby toilets, which are everywhere and are always clean. Yet it might not always have toilet paper. It depends on the category of hotel being used.

I do not want to frighten you. However, of all of China Travel Tips to all other sites on the Web that I have read, this is an issue that is not mentioned often, but it is very important for all of us.

So outside of the huge cities conditions can be tough. But most of the time everything will be fine, especially if you book a tour, all will be checked before hand. However, even the ideal ordered plans can go wrong, so be prepared, the toilets in smaller cities, towns and villages can be scary.

China Travel Tips – food

• The food is great and the variety is overwhelming. Most of the time you get to select what you eat, or you can recognize what you are eating, but sometimes you do not get a choice. Wearing a chocolate bar or something, which will keep you going until some foods that can recognize laps. Drink bottled or boiled water since tap water is not drinkable, that is for the whole of China. Even boiled water, while sterilized can contain a massive amount of minerals and iron deposits that you probably do not want in the system. The bet is innocuous to drink bottled water. Tap water in most massive cities is OK to brush your teeth.

• Eating habits-Most Chinese have a great usage of being very noisy and when they take lunch and dinner times can be a wonderful party noisy, the food tends to go in all directions, its just part of being in China .

• People smoke cigarettes on the plateau while everyone is eating, so some restaurants get very loud and smoky.

• If you get stuck which so since most of the menus are in Chinese just look at the plateau next to you and point to the plate and ask you how much it is, this system works really well and it seems learn to mind.

• I have a basic menu that will help to food safety, (no cats or dogs), this visit will grant greater choice of restaurants, not just tourists with high prices. You can bring with you and use it on the premises where most of the restaurants could serve as what is on it. This way you will know what they are eating.

These premises are very cheap and the food is great. Contact me if you would like me to send it to you.

China Travel Tips – Taxi

• Travel Tips – China – Taxi cabs are an experience that you can have headquarters complaints and panting, but it is too primeval to get used to it, after the first few rides, you are a veteran.

• The taxis in Shanghai are generally quite good. Try to get the Blue, Blue’ish Turquoise, Oro Blanco and taxis, these are the best… these are the four major taxi companies and are generally recognized by its one-of-a-kind color painting. The others are OK, only older and a rougher ride (others might also have defective meters). No drivers talk English.

• Carry your hotel accommodation or business card with you, written in Chinese, which helps if you get lost travel around town.

• In all taxis around the country will be healthy to see the study of the taxi drivers and registration number in plain sight. If you have any problems, or if you think has been most pronounced, etc., just take this number down, make a huge fuss about it, then the driver should wake up and solve any problem you have. Even superior is to take the receipt. This has all the details on the trip and who can call the taxi company if they want to have more things or if you have something left in the taxi.

• The government takes rip-off drivers in all cities, especially Beijing and Xian, very seriously, and if they complain they will lose their license. This is their livelihood. So far I have not had a driver in 3 years that has not been withdrawn, and then we have concurred a price for the trip or solve our problem.

• In Shanghai, which is common practice taxi increases after 11pm. However, one can dicker for a 20% discount, which will return to the previous rate-11pm fee. Be strong with the taxi drivers, never the less, keep calm, smile and negotiate.

The Chinese are very experienced in the understanding and we know that we are to halve the opening price when the negotiations. In markets go for 25% of what they ask first; go so low that they let you walk. This gives you an intent of the bottom price. The end result of the price will probably be around 40% to 50% of the starting point.

Whatever the market people say, which are used to near for superior prices and haggling. Do not worry about being too hard, they are used to it and you do not sell an item unless profits.
